For football coaches, players fans and enthusiasts,
August can't come too soon each year.
Most playbooks are done, schemes are settled, and
the emphasis turns to installing, perfecting and
executing - on the field, and in the meeting rooms.
We've taken that into account with our programming
for August, and will be bring our Coaches Corner
listeners ideas, insights, tips and coaching points
that can be implemented as easily during the season
as in the off-season.
A case in point is the topic of our
first show in August - character
building. In Volume 61, Coach
James Vint returns to discuss the
Champions for Life program that he first
developed while coaching at Christopher
Columbus HS in the Bronx, and has
implemented at Coronado HS in Lubbock,
TX. This is the second time we
have had Coach Vint on Coaches Corner,
and his first show continues to rank
about our most popular. This
one's an easy listen, and contains many
ideas ..maybe some that you can
implement this season.

Coaches Corner
We've been hard at work here at Coaches
Corner to deliver a unique combination
of coaching education, entertainment,
and even a little fun. Our July
lineup, on the heels of some excellent
shows earlier this year, has set new
records in listenership in July. Hats
off to our Host, John Anderson, and to
July's guests, Manny Matsakis and
Dan Pippin
Coach Matsakis, who is currently the Head Coach at Enka HS,
kicked off the month of July talking about the Triple Shoot Offense, its tough-to-defend Choice Routes, and a number of other topics. With a resume that
includes stints in college football at places such
as Texas Tech, Kansas State, Wyoming, Hofstra and
Emporia State, and time in the Canadian Football
League.
